UI / UX Architect opening in Kansas City

Minimum Experience:

5+ years experience leading a User Interface team participating in the complete product development lifecycle of several successfully launched web and/or software applications. Portfolio required.

Technologies/Skills:

CSS, Graphic preparation tools (e.g., Photoshop/Illustrator/Fireworks), HTML, advanced CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Google Search Appliance & Analytics, Flash Video & Windows Media, SEO, Mobile design (iPod, Blackberry, Android).

Responsibilities:

They will function as the design lead for the web development team. They shall assist in developing thorough, realistic plans that support organizational objectives. Shall work with stakeholders to understand their business models and goals and help define strategy, content, and features for design of their web site. Be able to analyze audiences and their information and functional needs. Define site architecture and navigation that serves as a blueprint of the site upon which all other aspects are built. Create wireframes, site maps, schematics, process maps, feature lists, mockups, visual specification, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience. Articulate a strategy for a proposed solution based on business goals, market conditions and audience needs. Produce user requirements specifications, including personas, scenarios, task analysis, flowcharts, and organization and navigation models.

Qualifications:

Expertise in user interface design processes and methodologies. Experience with multi-variant testing, workflow modeling, web analytics, audience targeting and personalization, and social media knowledge. Proven ability to Design intuitive and compelling user interfaces based on strategies, research and business objectives (portfolio required). Must have strong visual design skills including screen layout, information design, color and typography, and a great attention to detail. Understanding of user-centered design principles and iterative product development cycles. Experience with CSS used to brand and rebrand graphical user interfaces. CSS should be able to control not only look and feel (font, color, style) but also positioning and inclusion/exclusion of page elements. Cross-browser compatibility expertise. Experience with Search Engine Optimization.
