VP of Marketing - Kansas City, Missouri

Job Description:

As the Vice-President of Marketing, the selected candidate will drive efforts to leverage its position as an emerging market leader for software and services solutions in the digital signage/media market to drive aggressive revenue growth. The VP will be a member of the executive team, reporting directly to the Sr. VP Sales/Marketing and also working closely with the CEO in the areas of corporate strategy, research and investor relations.

Areas of direct responsibility include: marketing strategy, lead demand generation, public relations, product marketing, corporate branding/messaging, website management, online viral programs that incorporate social media communication methods, competitive intelligence and market trend analysis, attend promotional and industry events, and develop metric tracking to provide analytic data to determine and indentify correlations between budget spends and sales revenue. In addition, the VP will have people management responsibilities providing leadership and direction for 2 to 3 marketing staff initially.

Primary Responsibilitie:

• Assist with corporate strategy, board and investor presentations.
• Establish brand and marketing strategy with media plan to formulate and facilitate the approved annual marketing plan.
• Create and manage lead demand generation programs to support an aggressive annual revenue plan with methods introduced to maximize gross margin and cash flow for optimal working capital efficiencies.
• Establish marketing budgets and manage spending within budget.
• Lead press and analyst relations (e.g. establishing thought leadership, obtaining favorable coverage, influencing industry analyst reports & become a recognized opinion influencer to educate target markets about the value proposition to existing /future clients and partners).
• Manage corporate websites including design, content creation and tracking to compliment and enhance social media communications.
• Influence and interface with product management to create product marketing materials, coordinate and execute product launches to increase sales revenue and facilitate identification of potential areas of growth in emerging technologies and trends.
• Lead development of messaging, positioning, and differentiation for corporate and product brands to continue to establish firm as a cutting edge media solutions provider.
• Manage external vendors such as web design agencies, PR firm, freelancers, etc.
• Develop and monitor analytic reports on digital signage and media market trend data such as competitor activities, market growth and business case studies / philosophies / methodologies.
• Manage all events including tradeshows, virtual events, webinars and product demos.
• Lead design and development of all sales toolkits including datasheets, whitepapers, PowerPoint presentations, demos, videos, etc. to drive sales revenue and awareness.
• Interface with key clients to drive PR and case study development.
• Provide strategic advice and support for partner and channel activities.
• Produce and direct all social media marketing activities in line with marketing media plan(s).
• Develop and maintain detailed monthly and quarterly goals/metrics to measure the effectiveness of all marketing programs and tactics to ensure efforts are in line with predicted sales forecasts for revenue generation.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this job, you must meet the following qualifications:

• BS/BA required: MBA preferred
• 10+ years of marketing experience with 4 to 5 years of experience as the top marketing person at a B-to-B technology or software company.
• A deep understanding of and experience in implementing social media programs and the use of social computing solutions such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
• Superior expertise with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and the Adobe product suite.
• A strong understanding of marketing and media communication strategies.
• A willingness and ability to complete hands-on, tactical marketing projects.
• Experience interacting with Board of Director, investor and industry representatives.
• An extreme attention to detail and quality.
• A metrics driven, results-based approach to marketing.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to represent the Company in person at top-flight industry events and with C-level marketing executives.
• Excellent leadership and team development capabilities.
• A track record of implementing marketing programs that achieve corporate objectives and deliver a strong ROI.
